We are delighted to confirm our 3 year part-time Diploma programme started in September 2023.  The first step in this programme, the Charis Certificate in counselling skills (CPCAB Level 2) is now full.

Graduates from this course may apply for the second step, that is the Charis Certificate in counselling studies (CPCAB Level 3) to be delivered February to July 2024. Applications for this course are now limited. Should the course be oversubscribed applicants will need to go through a selection process, which may include an interview.

Charis training design and deliver CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) approved training, including all of the classroom-based components of the Open University Foundation Degree in Counselling:

  • Charis Certificate in counselling skills (CPCAB Level 2 qualification)
  • Charis Certificate in counselling studies (CPCAB Level 3 qualification)
  • Charis Diploma in therapeutic counselling (CPCAB Level 4 qualification and BACP approved qualification)


Charis training enjoys a rich working relationship with CPCAB, with numerous courses designed and delivered over the last 17 years. All trainers are CPCAB approved and bring a range of experience and different theoretical approaches.

Update on Diploma qualification – from 2022 graduates from the Charis Diploma in therapeutic counselling (CPCAB Level 4) also receive BACP practitioner qualification.
