There are several ways in which you can support and get involved in the work of Charis foundation and the three distinct projects of counselling, training and retreat.
Charis offers a professional counselling service to everyone on a voluntary donation basis, and affordable/accessible professional training in the community of Fife and beyond. The service relies on a huge amount of donated time and expertise from the team, as well as financial gifting from individuals who support the vision.

Make a donation
Over the last 30 years Charis has been dependent entirely on the support of individuals who share the vision to offer a free professional counselling service. However, this model is no longer sustainable and from January 2023 Charis counselling are inviting clients to make a voluntary donation, according to their own assessment of what they can offer. Our aim is to provide quality counselling which is available to all members of the community and which is affordable to everyone.
Most private counselling in Fife typically costs around ÂŁ50 for each session. However, if a client is unable to pay the suggested minimum agreed per session the service will be free of charge. Our policy of never turning anyone away because of financial limitations means we are left with a significant funding gap to bridge.
Your financial contribution, however small or large, will make a difference.
If you would like to support Charis on a regular basis then you may wish to consider giving an amount every month, quarter or year by completing this Standing Order Form. Your gift will be a great help to us in meeting the running costs of the agency, including professional fees, supervision, insurance, utilities, etc. Alternatively, you may wish to make a one-off or occasional gift via Bank Transfer, please contact the office for more information.
If you are a UK taxpayer, please complete our Gift Aid form so we can reclaim an extra 25% on your donation at no cost to you.
Get involved as a Counsellor
We are currently recruiting experienced counsellors who can gift a day, a Monday and/or Wednesday.
Please contact the counselling manager via email counselling@charisfoundation.co.uk for further information.
Prayer Partnership
Just five minutes of prayer a day can make a difference, because the Lord chooses to move through prayer. For over 30 years, Charis foundation has seen God work through the prayers of his people. We have many stories of the Lord answering prayer in and through the work over the years in some amazing ways.
Prayer partners like you play an essential role in our work as we seek to see God work in the life of our clients. Because Charis sees prayer as a vital part of our work, we would love you to get involved and share in the work of Charis by signing up as a prayer partner with us.
By signing up as a Prayer Partner you will receive our Charis foundation Newsletter which goes out regularly, providing up-to-date information on all aspects of the work.
